TASK
Learning Intention:To re-create a description of the setting and the character/s in a text as a Toondoo cartoon illustration.

EXAMPLEDescribe the settingSetting –
The room had a window overlooking the street. Traffic lights could be seen outside the window and the moon shone high in the sky at night. A single bed stood in one corner with a bedside table next to it. On the table was a small lamp. A rug covered the floor next to the bed and several pieces of clothing were strewn untidily across it. On the other wall stood a large bookshelf full of books. Against the bookshelf leant a bat and balls.

Describe the character/sCharacter –
The boy who lived in the room had dark hair and looked about 12 years old. He enjoyed playing different sports but was very messy. Tonight however, he had a worried look on his face and appeared to be pointing at something. The object he was concerned about, was a spider on the bookshelf. The reason he looked concerned was that he had a fear of spiders. (Arachnophobia) Although he didn’t like spiders he did love animals, especially Fred his dog, who followed him everywhere.
